The City
Choir
One Community. Many Voices. A Shared Sound.
Founded in Lagos in 2023, The City Choir is a dynamic choral ensemble bringing voices together through artistic excellence, African musical expression and contemporary sacred music.
Our Story
A musical community, built voice by voice.
In August 2023, musician and composer Shallom Matthew gathered singers in Lagos around a simple idea: a choir where everyone could learn, grow and develop through performing together.
Within months, the ensemble was singing carols at RCCG Canaanland. Since then it has published original works, collaborated with gospel artists and drawn audiences across Nigeria and beyond.
